Etherley Moor

Etherley Moor is my home patch and is situated on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland.  The farmland, hedgerows and roadside wires are always worth checking for Corn Buntings (not been seen or heard since 2013), Grey Partridge, Green Woodpecker, Lapwing, Pipits, Skylark, Linnet, Redwing, Fieldfare, Song Thrush, Barn Owl, Tawny Owl, etc.  Our garden feeding station attracts a good variety of birds throughout the year and visitors have so far included Tree Sparrow, House Sparrow, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Willow Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Siskin, Lesser Redpoll, Robin, Dunnock, Wren, etc.  Best birds seen since 2005 include Whooper Swan (over), Cuckoo, Waxwing, Willow Tit and Red Kite.
